Jack has 1 1/2 pound cakes. He wants to cut the cake in 2/3 pieces. How many pieces can he make.

(1 1/2) / (2/3) = 3/2 * 3/2 = 9/4

and that would be 2/3-lb pieces, not 2/3 pieces.
