A falling ston accelerates at a constan rate of 10m/s^2.it is dropped from rest down a deep well,and 3 second later a splash is heard as it hits the water below.
A) how fast will be it be moving as it hits the water?
B) what will be it averege speed over the three second?
C) How deep is well?
D)what have you assumed about the speed of sound?

how long does it take to fall? t seconds
How long for the splash to echo back? 3-t seconds
what is the speed of sound? 343 m/s
so, if the well has depth d, then
So now we know that
5t^2 = 343(3-t)
t = 2.88s
d = 41.16m
Now we can proceed.
A) v = at
B) speed = 41.16/2.88 m/s
C) see above
D) yes, what have we assumed?
