Time taken to cover second metre
Distance traveled=1m
Acceleration=0.25m/s^2
Using,s=ut+1/2at^2
1=1/2*1/4*t^2
1=1/8*t^2
t=2√2
So,time taken to cover last 1m=4-2√2=1.7s
Distance traveled=1m

First find the time that needs to cover 1m distance and then from that find the final velocity at the end of 1m. Then with distance formula s=ut+1/2at^2 find the time.
