Calculate the area of the composite figure, which is not drawn to scale.
my answer: this shape is made up of one rectangle and one triangle.
the triangles dimensions are 19 cm
the rectangles are 17 by 22 cm. could have a little help figuring out the area?

Not sure what you mean by
"the triangle's dimensions are 19 cm"
Is that an equilateral triangle?
If so, then you have a rectangle and a triangle, so the area is
17*22 + 19^2/4 √3 = 374 + 156.3 = 530.3
If I misread your intent, just fix it up. I'm sure you know how to find the area of a rectangle and a triangle.

First off, we can see that the shape has been divided into a rectangle and a triangle. We will be calculating the area of the triangle first.
In the triangle, we see the base is 19 cm, and the height is 12 cm 22-10=12. So that would be 19x12÷2= 114.
The rectangle is much simpler. All we need to do is 17x22, which equals 374.
Now we add 374+114= 488. So our answer is 488cm squared
also im probably wrong, im really stup3d, so im really sorry if im wrong, and remember kids, don't copy exactly

Muck with all respect, you are right on the first part but not so much on the second.
In the second part, you said all you have to do is 17 x 22 but not so true.
In the second part, You first have to add both lengths which are 22 +10 which equals 32. Then you time base 1(17 is base 1) with 32 which looks like 32 x 17 = 544 and then you divide 544 by 2 which is 272. Lastly, you add the triangle base which is 114 which is what muck said, which gives you the answer 386.
hopes this helps and I'm very confident that this is right but just in case I'm wrong, I do apologize.

simple way of saying the rectangle part:
22 +10 = 32
32 x17 = 544
544 divided by 2 = 272
272 plus the area of the area of the triangle 114 = 386
answer: 386
22 +10 = 32
32 x17 = 544
544 divided by 2 = 272
272 plus the area of the area of the triangle 114 = 386
answer: 386
