Question

SOLVE THE SIMULTANEOUS 2y=6m,6m+8y=20

Answers

Reiny
first of all, the system should have been reduced
2y=6m,6m+8y=20 ----> y = 3m, 3m + 4y = 10

if would use substitution,
plug y = 3m into 3m+4y = 10
3m + 4(3m) = 10
15m = 10 ----> m = 2/3
they y = 3(2/3) = 2

I could have replaced the 3m in the 2nd equation with y and found y first
etc.
