Question

A canon ball is fired horizontally with a velocity of 50mls form the top of a cloff 90m high ,,(I )after how many hour will it strike the plane of the cloff .(ii) at what distance from the foot of the cliff will it strike..(iii) with what velocity will it strike the ground.

2. h = 0.5g*T^2 = 90.
4.9 * T^2 = 90,
T = 4.3 s. = Time in air.

d = Vo * T = 50 * 4.3 = meters.

3. V^2 = Vo^2 + 2g*h = 0 + 19.6 * 90 = 1764,
V = 42 m/s.
