I'm in Language Arts 8 B and I have to write an argumentative essay for the poems “The Sky is Low, the Clouds are Mean” and “Concrete Mixers”.

I have to do 5-7 paragraphs and I am a good writer and usually get a good grade, but I was wondering if someone could give me a few could hook sentences to catch the readers attention.

Just examples, not stuff from the actual poems.

Thank you.

By the way if someone doesn't know what a Hook Sentence is, it's a sentence that grabs the readers attention, and usually makes them want to read more. But, I want a good topic/hook sentence.

I'm posting this question again because no one was helpful last time I asked it *cough* *cough* Mrs. Sue.... -_-

Are you writing an argumentative essay on which one is better? or what are is your essay about like whats the argument

No, we have to evaluate the poems and write on them and what they mean and how people interpret them.

You need to write your essay BEFORE you write the hook.

No I don't Mrs. Sue.....THE HOOK IS THE FIRST SENTENCE. And, it's supposed to be the thing that grabs the readers attention. I'm combining my topic sentence with a hook.

Mrs. Sue just stop replying to my questions because you don't help WHAT SO EVER
