How do you think we can answer this without seeing the graphs??
Answered by
Henry2,
In Eq2, replace Y with -x + 5:
-x + 5 = x/4 + 10.
Multiply both sides by 4:
-4x + 20 = x + 40,
X = -4.
In Eq1, replace X with -4 and solve for Y:
Y = -(-4) + 5 = 9.
Solution:(-4, 9).
.
-x + 5 = x/4 + 10.
Multiply both sides by 4:
-4x + 20 = x + 40,
X = -4.
In Eq1, replace X with -4 and solve for Y:
Y = -(-4) + 5 = 9.
Solution:(-4, 9).

Answer: A: Two lines going vertical at a slight tilt, should say "No solution" under it
12) Which graph represents the solution to the given system? y=-6x-2 y+2=-6x
Answer: A: Looks like only one line, should say "Infinitely many solutions" under it
13) What is the solution of the system? Use substitution. 4x+y=5 3x+y=2
Answer: A: (3,-7)
14) What is the solution of the system? Use elimination. 5x-y=20 2x+y=15
Answer: A(again): (5,5)
15) A science teacher has a supply of 50% sugar solution.
Answer: A(again, again): 70 mL of 50% solution and 35 mL of the 80% solution
16) Which graph represents the given inequality? y>5x-1
Answer: A: It'll have most of the left side shaded, with a little bit on the right side.
17) Which graph represents the given inequality? 3x-7y<-21
Answer: A: The top part of the left side should be complete shaded, with a little white left at the bottom. The upper right side should also be a little shaded.
18) Mary is selling her crafts to earn money. 6x+10y<120
Answer: B: The graph should almost be completely shaded, with a small white space in the bottom left corner.
19) Which graph represents this system of inequalities? y<x+4 2x+y<-4
Answer: A: Most of the bottom left side should be shaded, with only two little corners remaining white.
20) Which graph represents this system of inequalities? y<-2x-3 y>3x+2
Answer: D: Most of the left side should be shaded, the areas closest to the right side should still be white.
Good luck, again, these are the answers to the Systems of Equations and Inequalities Unit Test, Unit 3 lesson 9. This is the 20 question test for the Midwest region.
1) Which graph represents the solution to the given system? y=-x+2
Answer: A: It's the graph with the little blue line in the upper corner.
2) Which graph represents the solution to the given system? -2+5y-10 and -3x+5y=-20
Answer: A: It's got both lines starting at the same spot, and then branching out a little bit.
3) 4x=-12y+16 and x+3y=4
Answer: 3: Infinitely many
4) y=6x+4 y=6x+4
Answer: D: None
5) x-4y=12 and y= 1/4x-3
Answer: C: Infinitely many
6) y-7x=-14 and y-7x=-2
Answer: D: None
7) What is the graph of the inequality in the coordinate plane? X>1
Answer: A: The right side should be shaded starting at 1
8) What is the graph of the inequality in the coordinate plane? y<-2
Answer: C: The bottom half of the graph should be shaded starting at -2
