cotØ = -.5 = -1/2
tanØ = -2/1
sketch a right-angled triangle in quadrant II, with x = -2 and y = 1 and base angle of Ø
Ø = 180° - tan^-1 (2)
= 180 - appr 63.43° = appr 116.57°
but the tangent is also negative in quad IV, so
Ø = 360 - 63.43 = appr 296.57°
