It is not an equation, it is an algebraic expression.
You could get rid of the fractions by multiplying by 6/6
(1/2x-3)(4x-1/3)
= (1/2x-3)(4x-1/3) * 6/6
= (3x - 18)/(24x - 2)
= 3(x - 6)/(2(12x - 1)) , (don't know if that looks any more simplified)

Henry2,
(1/2x-3)(4x-1/3).
2x^2 - 1/6x - 12x + 1,
2x^2 - 73/6x + 1.
2x^2 - 1/6x - 12x + 1,
2x^2 - 73/6x + 1.
