Use parentheses, cosine of what? Argument of cosine must come out unitless.
(1/alpha) cos^2(2p beta gamma) or cos^2(2pi beta gamma/alpha)
(1/alpha) cos^2(2p beta gamma) or cos^2(2pi beta gamma/alpha)
