breadth of rectangle=100m
a) Area of rectangle=l×b
= 400×100
=40000m²
Side of square=200m
Area of square=(side)²
= (200)²
=40000m²

b) perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)
=2(400+100)
=1000cm
perimeter of square= 4×side
=4×200
=800cm
Hence, perimeter of rectangle is greater than that of square
So rectangle requires more fencing by 1000-800=200cm
