−8 <8x+ 5− 7x
8x+ 5− 7x > -8 , ........ e.g. If 5 < 12, then 12 > 5
x > -8 - 5
x > -13

or

−8 < 8x + 5− 7x
-8 - 5 < x
-13 < x
-x < 13
