Gr. 9 English
I am great at writing nonfiction, but my mind goes blank when trying to come up with a story. These are my instructions:

Create your own fable on one of the following topics. Make sure that your fable includes all the parts of the short story. A fable is a narration intended to enforce a useful truth. Fables have two important characteristics. First, they teach a moral or lesson. Second, the characters are most frequently animals. These animal characters often function as a satiric device to point out the follies of humankind.

how the skunk got its stripe
why kittens are born with their eyes shut
why sheep have wool
how the loon got its call
(250-325 words max.)

To clarify: I'm not asking you to write it. (lol)
I'm simply asking for some ideas. It will have to include a moral of course.

You could possibly start with a stripeless skunk who indiscriminately spread his stink.

Thank you for your response. I eventually chose a loon with a moral similar to "persuasion has more effect than aggression and force"

Good for you.
