I'm just curious to know are there any incentives or point system for answering questions here? Like what drives people to? Hobby, getting paid, bored or something else? Does this site have the same structure as ya4oo answers? If so, I kind of get it then. Otherwise, I'm blown lol.

Most of Jiskha's tutors are retired teachers. We answer questions here because we enjoy helping students. I'm not familiar with Yahoo answers but it looks like entertainment. Jiskha is strictly for academic questions. We try to help the students figure out how to answer the questions themselves. We don't usually just give answers.

Zack, I do this just for fun and to keep my aging brain active. I do make some silly mistakes, as you saw in your last question I answered, but there are other capable tutors that keep an eye on me. We do this strictly as volunteers, and in my case, for the fun of doing math. Enjoy the mathemagics!

There will most likely be a point system very soon. I am currently programming numerous user features.
