Why do different people have different tastes in ice cream flavors? Or chocolates? Or those fiery hot spicy Thai foods? or Turkish coffee?
What one has grown up accustomed to something, and comfortable with it, and it serves a need, often things are never changed. Most of us feel uncomfortable with changes.
