Hmm, I see an ad for a tastey burger at Mcdonalds, and I want it!
Not all ads talk to our subconscious fears and desires. Chopsticks' example of a burger hardly addresses our subconscious. When I picked up a McDonald's mocha coffee a few weeks ago because of several billboards along the highway, it's appeal was totally conscious. I was hungry and thirsty.

We all want to be liked and accepted by our peers and subconsciously sometimes fear that we are not. Mouthwash, teethwhitener, deoderant, clothing, and hygiene products are among the many ads that appeal to our subconscious fears of stinking or appearing dirty or out of style.

Political ads sometimes appeal to our subconscious fears of death.

When you watch TV, watch carefully to see what is appealing to your subconscious fears and desires.
