First I spent half the money for clothes. Then I spent $6 to go to a movie. Then half of what was left to download of song. now I have $7 left. How much was the original money.

just tally the remaining money after each step:
clothes: x/2
movie: x/2 - 6
song: x/4 - 3 = 7
x=40
So, you spent
20 on clothes, leaving 20
6 on movie, leaving 14
7 on song, leaving 7
