Asked by Cascade Amplifier and Atenuator
I have an amplifier and an attenuator in cascade. I know that when dealing with amplifiers in cascade, the overall gain is A=A1*A2*A3..., but how do I compute the overall attenuation when dealing with more than one attenuator? How do I compute the overall gain if I have an Amplifier and an attenuator in cascade? Is there a direct relation between gain and attenuation?

A=A1*A2*A3... but with attenuators, it is fractional, ie 1/20 . Now in log format (ie, db gain), of course, if A=A1+A2+A2 , and the factor is negative for an attenuator.
