Without adding write the following in standard form. 70+400+2+3,000+80,000=

there seem to be varying definitions of "standard form."

Since this is not my area of expertise, I searched Google under the key words "math 'standard form'" to get these possible sources:

http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/57137.html
http://www.gcse.com/maths/standard_form.htm
http://www.beaconlearningcenter.com/WebLessons/WhatsYourName/default.htm#page3

From the information, it seems like you have already written the numbers in standard form. However, you might want to arrange them differently.

80,000 + 3,000 + 400 + 70 + 2

Even so, this seems to be the expanded form of
83,472.

I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.
