    I think you have a typo in your equation
Did you mean
24 + (5x) = 13

    so 5 x = -11
and
x = -11/5
    
and
x = -11/5

    This is not well written. It results in:
24+5(x=13)
24 +5x = 65
5x = 65 - 24
5x = 21
x = 21/5
Like I write above, this is not well written and I've never see an equation like it - ever. It may well be a trick question. Ask the writer of this trash what's meant.
