    You have to define the "modern" period. It's generally thought to be post-1800. Do you mean the Columbian Exchange?

    I gave you a link about the early modern period. After 1800, you have to be more specific. The industrial revolution, various wars and empires that came and went quickly. There has been a lot going on! Google "Europe since 1800" and read lots.
