Just looked at the pic how is that supposed to help?

It helps because that whole white area south of the coast is the Sahara desert where few live.

But I need where most lived

The areas along the coast from Egypt to Morocco and then south along the Atlantic coast.

The interior is the bleak Sahara desert.
The coast has water and trade routes as does the Nile River.

So people lived along the coast from Egypt to Morocco and then south along the Atlantic coast because there were good trading sources and good land and food?
Answered by Damon
The Nile is particularly handy because you can drift North with the current to the coast with a load of rocks or food or whatever. Then to get back upstream you have a prevailing northerly breeze so you can sail downwind south to the interior.
Answered by Damon
Yes, once you get away from the river and coastline, it is camels from oasis to oasis.
