When it comes to New Year, I just realized it's 09. According to a article that I read a while ago it said that the world will come to an end Dec.12 ,2012. Is this true?

MC.... I definitely am not of the opinion that will happen. At various times in history, groups have been convinced that the world was going to end on a certain date. They got all ready and the date came and passed. No end. <G> According to scientists, unless something totally unforseen happens such as colliding with a star, the earth is going to continue to exist. Now, as to whether mankind will continue to live as we do now, I suspect, that if we are smart,we will become much more ecology conscious. So we may not have the same values then as we do now.

People have been predicting the end of the world for well over 2,000 years. And we're still here! Various interpretations of Biblical passages and Nostradamus's obscure predictions have fueled this mania.
Check this site for almost a hundred previous predictions that the world would end before 2009. And we're still here! :-)

Will the world come to an end Dec. 12, 2012? We'll have to wait and see. But in the meantime, I don't intend to change anything I do or plan or hope for.

Right, I see what you all have to say but whatever your religeous beleifs are, in most of them the day of judgement has to come doesn't it? And for that the world will end...Muslims say that most signs of the DOF coming are happening. There are only a few left, ex:the anti-christ. Maybe this is true? I guess it's all just a matter of opinion though. Thanks

Perhaps the day of judgment comes for each individual, but not the whole world.
According to the Old Testament, God got mad at the world and caused a great flood. But the world survived.

I am more inclined that it will not be December 12, holiday shopping is not completed. I suspect it will wait until the January white sales are over.

Just a little side note ...
Twice tonight, I have noticed that you make the same grammatical error. This is picky, I know, but if you continue, it will "mark" you as not well educated!

Yes, it is now Jan. 4, 2009. But the world did also end in 1975. God then decided to recreate the world again in the state the world would be in on the date of Jan 1 2009, if the world had not ended and continued to evolve until that date.
So, you did not exist in the period 1975-2008, all your memories of this time are false memories.
