We show exponents this way:
f(x) = x^2– 3x + 3
f(-2) ...... replace the x with -2, wherever you see it
f(-2) = (-2)^2 - 3(-2) + 3
= 4 + 6 + 3
= ....
repeat with f(5)
f(x) = x^2– 3x + 3
f(-2) ...... replace the x with -2, wherever you see it
f(-2) = (-2)^2 - 3(-2) + 3
= 4 + 6 + 3
= ....
repeat with f(5)
