So this isn't a questions about any subject really. I'm just here to ask, is this website ok to use or is it cheating? If it is cheating then why is it created . I also saw a couple of teachers so I doubt its cheating but I just want to make sure so I don't do anything wrong.

As long as you post your question or math problem and indicate what YOU THINK about it, what you have done so far, and/or where you're having difficulties, you'll be fine.

Those who post whole bunches of questions without answers or a whole list of answers with no questions are considered cheating.

So I'm the same person XD. I also wanted to add that I don't use this to cheat but I CHECK my answers with this. I finish the assignment but before I submit it I check my answers here.
Answered by Mama Teacher
We use this to check our answers before submitting an assignment. We do not have a book for Science so coming here is the best way to have the correct information.
Answered by Ms. Sue
Do you have an online text for science?
Answered by Mama Teacher
Remember that the quick checks are open book! That means it is ok to use notes, your book (if there is one), google...
No worries!

No textbook, whether online or in hand?

Something is wrong with this picture. Thanks for posting that, Writeacher.

You're welcome.

That last sentence is actually a link on that webpage. Parents should not be bamboozled into thinking there are no texts, no matter what form they take.

No Science text book. Yes there are online teachlet things, videos, and lessons. However, there are many times when we can not find the information to plug into the test study guides - so we come here to get the correct information. My son went to 'regular school' last year and they did not have social studies books. It was horrible because the teacher on 'the team' that gave the notes was not the same member of the team who made out the tests! We never had complete information and received poor grades. Many times in my career there have only been classroom sets of books which kids could not take home. At least I made sure that my kids had complete notes and several classroom reviews.

The most important part of teaching is giving our children the correct knowledge to ingrain in their brains - not criticizing them or failing them. Our job is to give knowledge in a way that a child can integrate it into their brain for future use.
Answered by Ms. Sue
I agree totally with your last paragraph.

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with regular school.

I taught in a small rural school district in Michigan and we always had enough books for each student to take home.

Answered by Writeacher
I'm glad you're using a variety of resources as you've described for your child's science study. That's a good move -- to make sure students learn that information can come from a variety of sources AND that they need to learn the difference between good information and bad information!

Learning is no more regurgitating answers than digestion is regurgitating what you ate. Learning is processing, making connections, and exploring what one does not know. I am very afraid many HomeSchool families do not understand, nor appreciate this. Homeschool is an alternative method of learning, but the process of learning must be understood. Gimme the answers is not in that process.

YES! Using this site is cheating and you know it!
#1 open book does NOT mean google ("mama teacher")! just wow
#2 not all of the quizzes and tests are open note/open book

AND posting questions from published curriculum onto a site like this is a copyright infringement (illegal).

so how does the cites help?

Yes this site is used for cheating
Answered by kara_mel
If you're an online student having trouble, the best resource is your teacher. Please book an appointment or send an email and ask for help. The teachers realize that the lessons aren't perfect and many try to supplement with info on message boards and in their LiveLessons so those are always worth checking out. Using sites like this and brainly.com and pretty much anything online to help with a quiz or test is a violation of the honor code and truly not worth the hassle especially when you can fix tests and quizzes that you get bad grades on.

Ok so, this website is getting abused by immature children on the internet. I am 13 and say that children should do their studies and pay attention, and then they won't have to cheat or post answers. I understand answering one question but kids do wayy too much and post the whole test. And to make it worse other kids give the answers! I am with an online public school and it is sad to see how our society is today. You will grow up to be nothing if you think everything is going to be handed to you. They won't hand you your job you have to WORK for it. Hard workers live a good life. All the kids cheating are irrelevant and immature. You are better then this! Anyone that dislikes this is because they know I'm right. Hate all you want. It's the truth. And if I'm being too mean I apoligize. However I wouldn't have anything to say if it wasn't true!!! SMH at all these kids these days. Thank you to the children that do right in this world! Have a nice day.

It's okay. I was just confused by the word "goof=" that you typed in your previous message. I wasn't sure what it meant or if it was a typo. If you were trying to say something else, please let me know and I'll do my best to understand and respond.
