What do political cartoons tell us about government policy in any age? I don't know which cartoons you have seen, so can't comment specifically. What did they depict? Were they anti-immigrants or pro-immigrants? Did they support government policy or make fun of it?

They do not "spoof and demean" immigrants--that is ridiculous. Political cartoons provoke the viewer to think about issues.
