I disagree with both of you. The Archaic period includes the development of agriculture in what is now the American Southwest. There was a period before that, and the others follow. Take it from there, and review your text materials.

Sorry it took me so long to respond here. It took several minutes of searching to find the appropriate website to refer you to. Putting the Archaic period first didn't seem "right" to me, so I refreshed my memory with a book I have at hand, but can't refer students to books, so...
