Substitute 1.2 for x and solve for y:
8(1.2) - 5y = 14
9.6 - 5y = 14
-5y = 4.4
y = -0.88
8(1.2) - 5y = 14
9.6 - 5y = 14
-5y = 4.4
y = -0.88
