The distance between mountianview and crowntop is 6.5 inches on a map. if the scale on the map is 1 inch= 25 miles what is the actual distance between the two towns

i have the correct answer it is 162.5 miles the etcher gave us this answer but how would i explain how she got this answer ??

i solved for y by simplifying both sides of the equation then isolating the variable y=3.9
