Two equal force acting at a point if the angle between then is 60 and the resultant is 20 root 3.find the magnitude ?

F1 = f in x direction
F2 = f cos 60 in x and f sin 60 in y
total x = f +f cos 60 = 1.5 f
total y = f sin 60 = [sqrt3/2]f

magnitude of resultant =
sqrt [ 1.5^2 f^2 + 3/4 f^2 ]

= f sqrt [2.25 +.75 ]

= f sqrt 3
