Do you know how to get mean, median, mode, and range?
Mean: Add up all the data and divide by the original total of numbers
Median: Set up the numbers in order from least to greatest, the number in the middle is the median.
Mode: The number that shows up the most. Ex: 1123 the mode is 1
Range: Subtract the lowest number by the highest number. Ex: 3,4,5,6,9.......9-3=6

What are the mean, median, mode and range of the data set given the altitude of lakes in feet: –11, –28, –17, –25, –28, –39, –6, and –46?
Mean: Add all the data
-11 + (- 28 ) + (- 17) + (- 25) + (- 25 ) + ( -28) + (-39) + (- 6) + (- 46 ) = - 225
Divide - 225 by 9
- 225 / 9 = 25
***25 is the mean
Median: Put the data in order from least to greatest
- 46, - 39, -28, -28, -25, -17, -11, -6
Add the two numbers in the middle: -28 + ( -25) = - 43
Divide -43 by 2: -43 / 2 = - 21.5
*** 21.5 is the median
Mode: -28 , it occurs the most
**28 is the range
Range: Subtract -46 and -6
- 46 - ( -6) = - 40
*** -40 is the range
Mean: Add all the data
-11 + (- 28 ) + (- 17) + (- 25) + (- 25 ) + ( -28) + (-39) + (- 6) + (- 46 ) = - 225
Divide - 225 by 9
- 225 / 9 = 25
***25 is the mean
Median: Put the data in order from least to greatest
- 46, - 39, -28, -28, -25, -17, -11, -6
Add the two numbers in the middle: -28 + ( -25) = - 43
Divide -43 by 2: -43 / 2 = - 21.5
*** 21.5 is the median
Mode: -28 , it occurs the most
**28 is the range

- 46 - ( -6) = - 40
*** -40 is the range

given the data 12,39,21,18,24,17,12,25.
a. what is the outlier in the data?
b. what is the mean with the outlier?
c. what is the mean without the outlier?
a. The outlier is 39 because the outlier the the number that is significantly larger or smaller than the rest of the data.
b. What is the mean with the outlier
1) 12 + 39 + 21 + 18 + 24 + 17 + 12 + 25 = 168
2) Divide 168 by 8 , since there are 8 numbers in the data
168 / 8 = 21
c. What is the mean without the outlier
1) 168 - 39 (outlier) = 129
2) Divide 129 by 7, since there are 7 number, remember you took out the outlier.
129 / 7 = 18.4
So yes, your answer was correct. Great job!!!!

19.) Mr. Green teaches band, choir, and math. This year, he has 57 students that take at least one of his classes. He teaches band to 25 students. There are 9 students who have Mr. Green for math and nothing else. Use the Venn diagram below: How many students take exactly 2 classes with Mr. Green?
Answer: 26 students take exactly 2 classes check the work below.
25 - ( 7 + 3 + 11) Use order of operations or pemdas
25 - ( 21 ) = 4 ** students who take both Band and Choir
Add 11 + 7 + 3 + 4 + 17 + 9 = 51
Subtract 57 - 42 = 15***Students take Math and Choir
Add 15 + 4 + 7 , these are the sections in the Venn Diagram where two circles share the same space.
15 + 4 + 7 = 26 ***** ANSWER

Hello Zeeko, you needed to make sure that we attend the same school. This was for California Connections Academy. This is school is in over half of the states. That's too bad you got an 8/17, But I bet you can ask your teacher to reset your test to give you another chance. Good luck to you.

The correct answer is C.
Mean: (-11) + (-28) + (-17) + (-25) + (-28) + (-39) + (-6) + (-46) = -225 / 8 = -28.125
Median: Put the data set in order from least to greatest: -46, -39, -28, -28, -25, -17, -11, -6. The median is the number in the middle, which is -25.
Mode: The mode is the number that appears most frequently. In this case, -28 is the mode because it appears twice.
Range: The range is the difference between the largest and smallest numbers. The smallest is -46 and the largest is -6, so the range is 40.
Mean: (-11) + (-28) + (-17) + (-25) + (-28) + (-39) + (-6) + (-46) = -225 / 8 = -28.125
