An outlier is simply a number that is WAY out from the rest of them. What do you think the outlier is here?

5 7 9 5 3 17 6 4

For example, if there were numbers 5, 4, 3, 6, 20, then 20 would be the outlier, because it is not in the rang of the other numbers. There can sometimes be multiple outliers. For example, 7, 9, 6, 19, 8, and 1, 19 and 1 would be the outliers, because they are not in the range of the other numbers.
