the line y = 1/2 x - 3 passes through (-1,-7/2)
2 = -7/2 + 11/2
so, you want
y = (1/2 x - 3) + 11/2 = 1/2 x + 5/2
2 = -7/2 + 11/2
so, you want
y = (1/2 x - 3) + 11/2 = 1/2 x + 5/2
