To buy a tablecloth for her dining table, which is 2.5m by 1.2m on its top surface, Mrs Joe also considered leaving 30cm hanging down from all around the table surface. If Mrs Joe put the cloth flat on the ground, what was the perimater of the cloth in centimetres?

2.5 m = 2500 cm
1.2 m = 1200 cm
2500 + 60 = 2,560 cm
1200 + 60 = 1,260 cm
P = 2L + 2W
Can you take it from here?

2(2.5+2*.3 + 1.2+2*.3) = 9.8m
or, the original perimeter plus two sides of each of the the four 30cm squares on the corners:
2(2.5+1.2) + 4(2*0.3) = 9.8
