Decide what values of the variable cannot possibly be solutions for each equation. Do not solve.
2x/x+1 + 3/5x+5=0
2x/x+1 + 3/5x+5=0

I will assume you meant:
2x/(x+1) + 3/(5x+5) = 0
the whole thing falls apart when the denominators are zero, since then we would be dividing by zero
When does that happen?
when x+1 = 0
x = -1
and
5x+5 = 0
5x = -5
x = -1
so x ≠ -1
2x/(x+1) + 3/(5x+5) = 0
the whole thing falls apart when the denominators are zero, since then we would be dividing by zero
When does that happen?
when x+1 = 0
x = -1

5x = -5

so x ≠ -1
