divides the rectangle into 4 equal squares.
but the dimension of square is one side times that side => 2x2= 4ft square. but we know that there are 4 equal squares => 4x4=16ft square.
if you want to show your son, just let him know like there is a long cake and then you have to divide into 4 equal small cake squares. but the dimension of square is a*a => if you get dimension of one small cake squares you will know what dimension of that long cake is.
