A wire with cross sectional area 1.00 cm2 stretches 0.500% of its length when it is stretched with a tension of 20.0 N. What is the Young's modulus of this wire?

E= (force/area) /(dL/L)
= (20N/1E-4m^2)/(.005)

E= 20E4*2E2=40E6 N/m^2

1 cm^2 = 10^-4 m^2

delta L = L F/(EA)

.005 = 20 /(E*10^-4)

E = 4*10^7 Pascals
