Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. To conjugate means to "walk" a verb through 1st, 2nd, 3rd person singular and plural. Here's a pattern verb, a regular -AR verb:
hablar = infinitive = to speak/talk
yo hablo = I talk, I DO talk, I AM talkING
tú hablas = you (familiar, singular) talk DO talk, ARE talkING
él/ella/Usted habla = he/she/you-formal, singular talk, DOES/DO talk, IS/ARE talkING
nosotros/nosotras hablamos = we talk, DO talk, ARE talkING
vosotros/vosotras hablais = you, plural and familiar (not in many textbooks) talk, DO talk, ARE talkING
ellos/ellas/Ustedes hablan = they/you-all, formal, plural talk, DO talk, ARE talkING.
NOTE: usually there are 3 English translations for the verb form in Spanish
The endings for a regular -AR verb:
o, as, a, amos, ais, an
If you are working with other verbs, let us know. Since you asked what "conjugate" means, I gave you the first verb most students learn.
The definition of the word from an Online Dictionary:
Main Entry: [2]con·ju·gate
Pronunciation: -j&-"gAt

Date: 1530
