Calculate the normality of solution containing 4g of sodium hydroxide present in 1 litre of solution ?

Normality=Heq*Moles/literssolution
= 1*4/(40*1)=.1N

Normality=weight of substance in gram ×1000/equivalent weight × volume in milliliter

Equivalent weight=molecular mass/xfactor=31/1=31

N=4×1000/31×1000
=4/31
=0.13
