multiply the first by 3:
12x+9y=45
keep the 2nd
7x+9y=75
subtract them , (here is your elimination method)
5x = -30
x = -6
sub that back into the original 1st
-24 + 3y = 15
3y = 39
y = 13
x = -6, y = 13
