When you mixand separate CaCO3 and SiO2 with acetic acid-vinegar, it is a chemical reaction. It bubbles and CO2 is produced. What property of CaCO3 causes this to happen?
Could you explain this to me pls. I am guessing the acetic acid reacts with one of the acetic acid, but how and why? Is there a formula that could help me understand? What property of CaCO3 causes this to happen?
Thank you.

It is a chemical property because the CaCO3 is changed into something different. The equation is
CaCO3 + 2HC2H3O2 ==> Ca(C2H3O2)2 + CO2 + H2O
