A town in east Texas received 10 inches of rain in two 2 weeks if it kept raining at this rate for a 31 day month, how much rain did the town receive?

I am confused on how to figure out the answer for this. Can you please help me.

10/14 = x/31

Cross multiply and solve for x.

So if I cross multiply
then 14 x 31=434
10x31=4,350

or

If I reduce 10/14 that would equal 5/7
5/7=1,085/31
