Which of the following would be the best solvent for NH3 and why?
CH3(CH2)4CH3, CCl4, CH3OH, BrCH2CH2CH3.

As an educated guess, I would guess CH3OH. Since NH3 is a slightly polar solvent, I would rule out solvent 1 and 2 in your list. Of the two remaining, CH3OH probably is more polar than the other one.
