Question

A mass m 1 of 100 kg travelling with a uniform velocity of 5 m/s along a line collides with a stationary mass m 2 of 1000 kg. After the collision,
both the masses travel together with the same velocity. The coefficient of restitution is:

Answers

bobpursley
coefficient of restitution=speed after impact/speed before=5/V

to find v, we use momentum
100*5=(100+1000)V

V=1/11 *5

coeff=1/11
