5. Come up with a new linear function that has a slope that falls in the range −1 < m < 0 . Choose two different initial values. For this new linear function,
what happens to the function’s values after many iterations? Are the
function’s values getting close to a particular number in each case?
-----------------------------------
the function for the two questions below is:
g(x) =− 2 −x 2+ 4

7. What is the loop that forms after many iterations when the initial value of g is 1.7?

8. What is the loop that forms after many iterations when the initial value of g is 1.72?

I suspect a typo

g(x) =− 2 −x 2+ 4
is the same as

-2 - x^2 + 4 = 2-x^2

Clean it up and show how far you got.

I got the first one but not the second. Either I'm doing it wrong or the second one doesn't loop.

7. The loop that forms after many iterations is 1.6 and 3.2
8. This loop is never ending it took me 13 iterations to see that it will works it will result in 2.24 again just as the 3 iteration.

answer: The value of the function decreases and the values are not getting close to a particular number since they will be decreasing indefinitely
