When multiplying two numbers written in scientific notation what do you do with the exponents of the 10?

A. multiply
B. add
C. subtract

I think the answer is A. multiply. Is that correct?

10^3 * 10^5 = 10^8

what you have is

10*10*10 * 10*10*10*10*10

you multiply the numeric part

3*10^2 * 2*10^5 = 3*2 * 10^2*10^5 = 6*10^7
