Did you read the link I posted that defines imagery and gives examples? What images come into your mind when you read these poems? What language gives you a mental image that illustrates the poem? You do have to read them to find out, you know.

Okay. I don't know the two poems you are to analyze here. In the one about the Emancipation Proclamation, LIGHT is the image repeated throughout the poem, is it not? What does that suggest to you, when LIGHT (the proclamation) illuminates the jail cell (slavery)? The light represents the freeing of the slaves. The jail cell represents the state of being enslaved. The light is used to bring something good to bad things. Light chases away darkness, which often represents evil. Light is good. Do you see how imagery works? We aren't talking about a real cell in a real jail, we're talking about slavery imprisoning people in bondage, lack of freedom, just as a jail cell does.
You have to take it from here, and apply this to the other poems, too, and look at the first one to see how she uses similar imagery throughout. I have to go now. I've helped as much as I can.
