Mrs. Matthew called me stupid for not knowing the answer to this so...May I please get some proper help?

The cost for a business to make greeting cards can be divided into one-time costs (e.g. a printing machine) and repeated costs (e.g. ink and paper). Suppose the total cost make 500 cards is $1,100, and the total cost to make 650 cards is 1,400. What is the total cost to make 1,000 cards? Round to the nearest dollar.

A. 2,000
B. 2,100
C. 2,250

There probably is an algebraic formula for figuring this, but I'd break it down. If it costs $300 more to make 650 cards than 500, that's $300 per 150 cards. So, it would cost, $600 more to print 800 cards, etc. You figure it from there.
Remember the fixed cost of the printing press remains the same, no matter how many cards you print.
c = f + n v
or
cost = fixed + variable * number
that is a straight line
with slope v and c intercept f

1100 = f + (500) v
1400 = f + (650) v --subtract----
-------------------
-300 = -150 v
v = 2
then
100 = f
so
c = 100 + 2 n
if n = 1000
c = 100 + 2000 = 2100
Just in case you gave up :)
I am way behind on this because Ms. Sue isnt helpful at all.. GIVE US ANSWERS FAKE TEACHERS
I'm with DepressedChickenNugget, you post things under our questions and never give us any answers or you do very rarely.
B is the answer. $2100
Have I? You morons.
Wow, naming yourself "Mrs. Matthews" makes you an official Jiskha tutor now? I had no idea.
