For my science class I have to make a machine that attempts to convert heat energy into work.
I'm not really sure how to do this, but I do have some ideas, however I'm not all the way there. If you told me your opinion of my ideas or if you gave me one of your ideas that would help a lot!
So my first idea is a CD player. When you play CD's a lot they tend to get hotter . . . but that is work into heat, and I need heat into work.
My second idea is a thermometer. When heat raises that little red line goes up. Doesn't it take work to make that like go up???
As you can see I'm not all the way there. Thanks for helping me!

A car motor converts heat energy into work. The gas explosions within the cylinders make the "wheels go round."
I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.
